Marauders pick up six wins and set a program record in first event of 2022

LANCASTER, Pa. – Millersville University women's track and field team opened the 2022 portion of their schedule with a strong showing at the Coach I Open, hosted by Franklin and Marshall University.
 
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • Freshman Darian Hauf broke her own program record in the pole vault with a height of 12-6. She set the program record last month in her collegiate debut as she hit 12-1 ¼  Both of Hauf's marks are good for an NCAA Provisional Qualifier.
  • Megan Malecki followed Hauf with a 10-6 mark to place second.
  • Graduate standout Aliyah Striver qualified with an NCAA mark in the weight throw with a 56-foot throw, winning the event.
  • Hannah Woelfling followed Striver with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) mark of 52-11.
  • Striver and Woelfling took first and second respectively in the shot put with distances of 43-8 and 42 feet, both of which hit the PSAC qualifying standard.
  • De'Asia Holloman and Emily Skidmore took first and second in the 60-meter hurled with times of 9.56 and 10.22 seconds.
  • The Marauders also took the first three spots in the 4x200 relay, with the top group finishing in 1:49.70.
  • Abbey Sullivan took first in the one-mile run, as the sophomore clocked in at 5:30.53.

"I'm happy to see our team starting to jell and that many athletes did some good work over break. We go back to work for a couple of weeks before returning to competition.
 
UP NEXT
The Marauders return to on Jan. 28 as Millersville will feature split squad action. Half of the team will compete in the Great Dane Classic in Staten Island, while the rest of the team will head to Lancaster to compete in the Mini-Dip Invitational.
