
Women's Golf takes seventh at Vulcan Invitational

BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Competing in their first event of the fall semester, the Millersville University women's golf team took seventh out of the 10 teams participating in the Vulcan Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ville returns to the course on Sept. 17 as the Marauders head to Erie, Pa. to compete in the Evan Parker Memorial Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Marauders took seventh overall, finishing with a 705 over their two rounds, 42 strokes off the champion California.
- Ville recorded the third best total in round one (346) before falling to seventh after carding a 359 in the second round.
- Emma Schotsch led Ville in both rounds, as she recorded an 81 and 87 in the first and second rounds, respectively. Schotsch's team low 168 would tie her for eighth as an individual out of the 60 participants.
- Charley Kirby finished second overall for Ville, as she recorded a 171.
- Kirby would finish tied for second in par 5 scoring, as she recorded a +2 on those holes, averaging 5.29 strokes per par 5.
- Victoria Witouski of the University of Charleston would take the individual title, as she shot a 158 over her two rounds.
- "I think our three-freshman faired very well, shooting in the 80s, I'm very happy with that and we can build on that."
• Ville returns to the course on Sept. 17 as the Marauders head to Erie, Pa. to compete in the Evan Parker Memorial Invitational.
