ABOUT THE GAMES

• This weekend's series marks the first game action for Millersville since March 26 and 27, when the team took three of four games from East Stroudsburg University.
• The Marauders returned to both national polls this week, ranked No. 29 (Collegiate Baseball News) and No. 21 (NCBWA). The only other PSAC team present in the rankings is Seton Hill University (No. 15 CBN and No. 7 NCBWA). The Griffins are also ranked No. 1 in this week's NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll, with Millersville ranked just behind at No. 2.
• Millersville's combined team batting average sits at .328.
• Sophomore Bren Taylor enters this weekend's series with the third-highest average in the PSAC (.511), has hit safely in all 13 games this spring, and leads the team with five doubles.
• Sophomore Darin Miller was also in a groove at the plate near the end of March, riding an eight-game hitting streak and raising his average to .323 in just nine starts. His six extra-base hits are tied for the team-high total with Taylor, Luke Trainer, and Eric Callahan.
• Junior Alex Mykut's impressive start to the season continues, as he sports the third-lowest ERA in the conference (1.57), is tied for the most complete games (two), and has won each of his four starts.
• Shepherd University has won four games in a row (two against West Chester and two against Alderson Broaddus.) The Rams scored double-digit runs in each of those victories, outscoring their opponents 49-19.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

• Shepherd's lineup includes two hitters batting over .400: Caleb Walls (.417, four home runs, eight doubles, 23 RBIs) and Daniel Keer (.404, four home runs, 20 RBIs). 
• As a team, the Rams are near the top of the conference rankings in most offensive categories, ranking fifth in average (.301), third in runs scored (152) and doubles (37), and second in home runs (26).
• Walls and infielder Tommy Gibson are also tied for the conference lead in stolen bases with eight apiece.
• Tanner Dixon has been Shepherd's most successful starting pitcher. In three starts his ERA is 1.54 with 19 strikeouts in just 13.2 innings pitched.
• The rest of the frequent Rams starters include Steve Bowley (3.50 ERA, 20 innings pitched, 15 strikeouts, .243 batting average against) and Nick Trabacchi (4.05, 19 IP, 20 K.)

SERIES HISTORY

• The all-time series between Millersville and Shepherd began back in 1957 and is led by the Marauders, with 23 wins and 11 losses.
• Dating back to 2010, the Marauders have won 10 of the last 15 games against the Rams.
