ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville is back at home on New Year's Eve and will look to jump into the new year with a victory over visiting Goldey-Beacom. The Marauders have dropped seven straight games since their lone win of the season over Shaw, while the Lightning are currently on a two-game winning streak and will look to get to .500 on the season with a victory. This will be the final non-conference matchup for ‘Ville, as they move into PSAC East play to start the new year.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • The young Marauders have struggled on the offensive end of the floor this season but have looked much different on the opposite side of the court. Millersville currently ranks fourth in steals and tenth in blocked shots in the PSAC. They also rank 6th in forced turnovers with 194.
  • Millersville’s all-time leading scoring, Lauren Lister, is currently leading the team in scoring this season at 11.6 points per game. The redshirt senior is shooting 46% from the floor and 60% from the charity strike.
  • Mia Leonard and Ty Taylor have both contributed on the defense end in large ways this season, with Leonard ranking 6th in the PSAC in blocks (11) and Taylor ranking 7th in steals (19).

SCOUTING THE LIGHTNING

  • Goldey-Beacom is currently sitting at 5-6 on the season, with their last two games ending in wins. They are led on the offensive end by sophomore guard, Briana Seltzer, who is currently averaging 14.9 points per game. She is joined by Alexis Harrison who leads the team in field goal percentage at 62% and is scoring just over 14 points a game. Harrison also leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 per game.
  • The Lightning have matched up with two common opponents this season, dropping a game to Chestnut Hill (77-57) and taking down District of Columbia (72-62). The Marauders dropped games to both of those schools earlier in the year but were within a possession of beating District of Columbia on the road.

THE LAST TIME OUT
