ABOUT THE GAMES

The Marauders will look to get back in the win column this weekend with back-to-back matchups against PSAC West opponents, Seton Hill and California (Pa.). The Marauders face off with Seton Hill on Saturday before heading to Cal U on Sunday. These will be the team’s final games until Dec. 31 when they take on Goldey Beacom at home.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • The young Marauders have struggled on the offensive end of the floor this season but have looked much different on the opposite side of the court. Millersville currently ranks fifth in steals and seventh in blocked shots in the PSAC. They also rank top-10 in forced turnovers with 157 on the season.
  • Millersville’s all-time leading scoring, Lauren Lister, is currently leading the team in scoring this season at 12.1 points per contest. The redshirt senior is shooting 45% from the floor and 61% from the charity strike. When Lister has a big night, the Marauders are usually in good shape, with their only win coming when Lister scored her season-high in points, and the next two closest margins of defeat on nights where lister scored around the 20-point mark.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS

  • Seton Hill currently leads the PSAC in forced turnovers this season and ranks top-five in overall defense. The Griffins also get it done on the offensive end, ranking sixth in points per game at 67.4, and outscoring their opponents 741-609. They are led by Katie Nolan, who averages just over 13 points and eight rebounds a game, she also ranks second in the PSAC field goal percentage at 64%. Chrsitiane Frye and Sonia Sarda also contribute at the offensive end for Seton Hill, both averaging just under nine points.

SCOUTING THE VULCANS

  • Cal U is coming in to this 6-1, with its lone loss coming against Bloomsburg in overtime by a point. All the Vulcans victories have been by double-digits, other than their nine-point win over the then ranked No. 17 Charleston (W. Va.). They are currently outscoring opponents by nearly 200 points on the season (506-349) and are averaging 72.3 ppg which ranks third in the PSAC. Cal is led by the current No. 2 scorer in the PSAC, Dejah Terrell, who is averaging 19.4 points and 8.6 rebounds this season.

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville: No. 8 IUP 70, Millersville 40 (Dec. 14, 2021) – The nationally ranked Crimson Hawks jumped out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter and didn’t look back, improving to 9-0 while the Marauders fell to 1-6.  Makiah Shaw led the group in scoring with eight points, while Lister added seven in the loss.
  • Seton Hill: Seton Hill 73, West Chester 53 (Dec. 14, 2021) – The Griffins saw three players hit double figures in their 20-point route against West Chester. Cheyenne Trest Finished with 19, Samantha Kosmacki 15, and Sonia Sarda with 12.
  • Cal U: Cal U 64, Bowie State 41 (Dec. 11, 2021) – Terrell scored 32 points and grabbed seven boards in 37 minutes for the Vulcans as they routed Bowie State on the road.

SERIES HISTORY VS. SETON HILL

  • The Marauders have only met the Griffins six times in the past, with each team coming away with three wins to split the all-time series. Millersville is currently on the wrong end of a two-game winning streak, as Seton Hill has won the two most recent matchups by single digits.
  • The Last Meeting vs. SHU – Seton Hill 86, Millersville 82 (Dec. 20, 2019) – The Griffins edged out a victory in Millersville just over two years ago. Lister scored 27 in that game, while Ty Taylor added 13 and Mia Leonard scored 10.

SERIES HISTORY VS. CAL U

  • Cal U currently holds a strong all-time series lead on the Marauders at 11-26, including winning the last four matchups.
  • The Last Meeting vs. Cal U No. 20 Cal U 69, Millersville 55 (Dec. 1, 2018) – Lister’s 18 points weren’t enough to get the Marauders past a strong Cal U group.
