ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville is in the PSAC Semifinals for the ninth consecutive season and draws a familiar postseason foe in No. 1-seeded and undefeated Shippensburg. Shippensburg is 16-0 and owns a 2-0 win over Millersville at home this season, but historically, Millersville has fared well against the Raiders in the PSAC Tournament. The start time for Friday's semifinal game at Robb Sports Complex is 1 p.m., and the winner advances to the championship game, which will be played Sunday at 1 p.m., in Shippensburg. The other semifinal game features East Stroudsburg and West Chester.
  • While Shippensburg has won three of the last four NCAA Championships, its last and only PSAC title came in 2005 at home. The Raiders last reached the championship game in 2018. Millersville has won four PSAC titles all-time (1985, 1986, 2013, 2016), two of which have come under the leadership of Coach Shelly Behrens. Behrens has taken Millersville to the championship game five times since 2012, with the last appearance coming in 2016. Millersville was 5-9-1 in PSAC Tournament games before Behrens arrived in 2008. Since, Millersville is 12-7. Behrens' Marauders are also 5-0 in the PSAC Tournament against Shippensburg with three of those wins coming at Robb Sports Complex. It was Shippensburg that Millersville topped for the 2013 and 2016 PSAC titles.
(Shippensburg) is an opponent we know and we respect. We are looking forward to a great game.
Shelly Behrens, Millersville head coach

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville topped IUP 3-0 at home in the PSAC Quarterfinals to advance. The Marauders received goals from Bri Harsh, Qhayiya Nogoduka, and Keaghan Keracher, all three of whom were playing in their first PSAC Tournament game. It as the first tournament game for 16 of the 27 players on the roster.
  • Balance with the offense has been key all season as the Marauders have had nine players score at least four goals, and eight different players have scored game-winning goals. Harsh and Kate Strickland, with 14 and 10 goals respectively, are the first Millersville duo with double-digit goals in the same season since 2014 when the Marauders won the NCAA Championship.
  • Millersville is now 12-0 when Harsh records a point in a game, and her 35 points are the third-most by a Marauder in a season (since 1984). She is trending toward becoming the fifth Marauder to lead the team in both goals and assists in a season.
  • Harsh was one of six Marauders named All-PSAC on Wednesday. Harsh, Hannah Brown, Kerstin Koons and Meredith Fagan gave Millersville a PSAC-leading four first team selections. They also tied a the 2013 team for the most first team selections in program history. Brown is now a two-time first team selection, and Fagan joined Aliza Mizak and Rachel Dickinson as the only four-time All-PSAC honorees in Millersville history. Koons is the first Millersville goalkeeper since 2016 to be named All-PSAC, and she is the first freshman in program history to earn the honor as a goalkeeper.
  • After a shutout in the quarterfinals, Koons is tied for the PSAC in lead in goals against average. She leads the PSAC and ranks fourth nationally in save percentage.
  • Millersville ranks third in the nation in scoring average (3.84) and second in goals against average (0.58). Millersville and Shippensburg are the only teams to rank in the top five in both categories.

They've outscored teams an incredible 89-9 on the season.
