Marauders set multiple program records at Franklin and Marshall Invitational

LANCASTER Pa. – The Millersville University swimming team had a record setting performance at the Franklin and Marshall Invitational, setting five program records over the three-day meet.
The Marauders took fifth place out of the 11 teams competing in the meet. Millersville finished each day in fifth place as the Marauders put in a consistent performance over the weekend long event.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
On the five records set this weekend
"Jordan Plempel had an incredible meet overall, crushed three school records and had four best times overall. It was very impressive to see how well she has done after just one semester here on campus."
"Carolyn Bolden, has tons of experience racing at a high level in high school as well as at Liberty before she transferred. She showed everyone this weekend what she is capable of, setting the school record in 200-free, while being No. 2 all time in both the 500 and 100-free."
"Maddi Stoner has showed incredible growth and progress as an individual as well as an athlete. She has grown in her ability to compete in different events and excel while being one of our leaders on the team. This school record is something she deserved."
On the meet as a whole
"Overall, the team had 19 career best times and an additional 23 season best swims, added 18 new individual times to our All-Time Top 10 list and an additional two relays in the top 10."
"Nine of our 12 student-athletes have qualified for PSAC's in Feb. They have shown tremendous growth and ability to support each other at big meets. We have done so tremendously well this semester I am very excited to watch this program continue to grow."

The Marauders are off until the new year. Millersville returns to the pool on Jan. 15 to take on Susquehanna, Elizabethtown, and Franklin and Marshall in a quad-meet to open the 2022 slate of their schedule.

- Jordan Plempel set three program records, as the freshman from Harrisburg dominated the meet. Plempel set new program records in the
- 200-IM 2:07.52
- 100-Breast 1:06.70
- 400-IM 4:35.40
- Carolyn Bolden set the program record in the 200-freestlye with a time of 1:54.65.
- Senior Maddi Stoner set the program record in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:12.85.
- Alaina Rowe set a PR in the 1,650 as she recorded the 10th best time in program history – 19.09.86
- Jewels Hepner set a PR in the 100-free – 53.66 which is good for fifth all time, taking 11th in the finals of the event.
- Ava Adiletti recorded a season best in 50-free – 28.11. In the 100-free she set a career best with a time of 1:01.60.
- Carolyn Bolden found her way into the record books in the 500-free, second in program history in 5:11.85. She also recorded a season best in the 50-free in 25.61 which makes the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) cut.
- Bolden took second all time in the 100-free – 52.98 as she finished third overall in the finals for that event.
- Jewels Hepner recorded three career bests as she made the PSAC cut in the following events
- 500-free, fifth in program history – 5:22.80
- 50-free, eighth all time – 24.88
- 200-free, ninth all time – 1:58.61
- Ilana Jacobson recorded a season best in four events
- 500-free – 5:50.56
- 200-IM – 2:27.26
- 200-free – 2:09.00
- 100-breast – 1:13.26
- Leah Miksa recorded three season bests
- 50-free – 25.22 (PSAC cut)
- 200-free – 2:04.29
- 100-free – 56.12 (PSAC cut)
- Jordan Plempel did more than set her three program records mentioned above. She also set the fourth best mark in the 50-free at 24.54. Her time in the 200-back (2:08.39) was good for third in program history. Her five times were all career bests and made the PSAC cut, as she placed fifth overall in the finals.
- Lindsay Robbins set a pair of season bests
- 500-free – 5:39.43
- 200-free – 2:07.32
- Robins also took 23rd in the finals for the 200-back – 2:20.60
- Alaina Rowe recorded a pair of season bests
- 500-free – 5:42.30
- 200-free – 2:12.22
- Maddi Stoner, in addition to her school record, recorded three other career best times, all of which made the PSAC cut.
- 200-IM – 2:13.02
- 50-free – 25.07
- 100-free – 59.58
- Meghan Waldron recorded a season best 26.39 in the 50-free. She also made the PSAC cut in the 100-back with a time of 1:02.45.
- Becca Yeager set the third best time in program history in the 100-fly at 1:00.03 which was also a career best. She made the PSAC cut in that event and the 200-free with a time of 2:01.96. Yeager set a career best in the 50-free in 26.13. She recorded a season best 56.22 in the 100-free, good for the PSAC cut. Her time of 2:16.21 in the 200-fly was a career best, making the PSAC cut, as she recorded the third fastest time in program history.
- Mackenzie Yosko recorded a trio of season bests
- 500-free in 5:27.77 which makes the PSAC Cut
- 100-back – 1:03.24
- 100-fly – 1:01.50
- In relays, Plempel, Miksa, Bolden, and Hepner finished the 200-free relay in 1:39.09, good for seventh in program history and seventh place in the event. The quartet also took fifth place in the 400-free as they recorded the fourth fastest time in program history – 3:36.35.
