Millersville swimming improved to 6-0 for record setting start to season

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville University swimming team had a record setting performance on Saturday afternoon, opening the season with a perfect 6-0 record for the first time in program history.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Millersville picked up a 166-80 win against Juniata and a 151-89 win against Kutztown. The Marauders have no scored 150+ points in four of their meets, scoring 100+ points in all six victories to open the season.
  • The Marauders took first place in 11 of the 14 events during the tri-meet.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Jordan Plempel took first in the 50-freestlye with a time of 24.74, good for fourth in program history. Plempel also took second in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:11.39 good for fifth in program history. Both times make the PSAC cut.
  • Ava Adiletti won the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:11.39, which is a season best for Adiletti and the seventh best time in program history.
  • Carolyn Bolden won both the 100-freestyle (55.15) and 200-freestle in (2:00.32) both of which made the PSAC Cut.
  • Leah Miksa took second in the 50-freestyle (25.81) which was a PSAC cut tme, and the 100-freestlye (56.41) which was a season best.
  • Mackenzie Yosko took third in the 200-backstroke (2:15.50) good for a PSAC time, and the 100-backstroke (1:04.20) which was a season best.
  • Alaina Rowe recorded a lifetime best in the 1650-freestyle, finish the race in 19:21.98, which was good for first in the event.
  • Lindsay Robbins took fourth in the 200-backstroke, recording a lifetime best time of 2:19.08.
  • Jewels Hepner set lifetime bests in the 100-backstroke (1:02.76) and the 500-freestlye with a time of 5:29.88.
  • As a team, Millersville missed the pool record for the 400-freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.54, just 0.57 seconds behind the record of 3:41.97.

UP NEXT
The Marauders will head down the road to compete in the Franklin and Marshall Invitational from Nov. 19-21 to wrap up the fall semester portion of their schedule.
