ABOUT THE GAME
- Millersville will look to win the season series over Mansfield on Wednesday night after ending their previous match with the Mountaineers in a 1-1 draw earlier this season. The Marauders are currently sitting at the No. 4 spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East standings with four games remaining in the regular season. East Stroudsburg, who 'Ville is set to play on Nov. 3, is currently in the No. 5 spot and just a game behind the Marauders. This makes every game a must win moving forward, including Wednesday's home matchup with last place Mansfield.
- The Marauders had won two straight and put up three goals in each of those wins before running in to No. 21 West Chester on Saturday, the No. 21 team in the nation defeated the Marauders by a score of 2-0.
- The Mountaineers' only win of the season came on Sept. 14 against Roberts Wesleyan College by a score of 2-0. Since then Mansfield has suffered nine total losses and one draw, which was against Millersville on Sep. 29.
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
- Millersville is currently averaging 1.31 goals per game and 11.7 shots per game, which is just behind their opponents who average 1.46 goals per game and 12.3 shots per game. They do however create plenty of scoring opportunities in their attacking third with 33 more corner kicks than opposing teams thus far.
- Savannah Rennix has been huge for the Marauders as of late with meaningful late goals in multiple matches this season. One of those came against Mansfield earlier this season when the forward evened the game at one with less than 20 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. She currently is tied for the most goals on the team with four.
- Morgan Winchock also has four goals on the year and continues to be one of the key pieces in the Marauder offensive attack. The forward scored the game-tying goal in the match against Lock Haven last week.
- Lauren Downey currently leads the team in assists and has found one of her teammates for a score in three of the last six games.
- Reagan Kolinski has recorded 61 total saves on the season, while allowing 19 goals. The Junior ranks top-10 in the PSAC in saves per game (4.69).
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- The Mountaineers are currently in last place in the PSAC East standings. However, that doesn't mean they don't cause problems for teams around the league. They lost by one goal to No. 3 Kutztown, Bloomsburg (No. 3 team in PSAC East), and forced Millersville to a draw earlier in the year.
- Katelyn Rueppel accounts for more than half of the Mansfield goals so far this season with four. Emily Smith is just behind her with two on the year, one of them coming against Millersville.
- Keeper tandem Faith Cameron and Stephanie Moir have each started seven games this season for the Mountaineers. Moir started in their last matchup with 'Ville, recording five saves and allowing one goal.
THE LAST TIME OUT
- Millersville: Millersville 0, No. 21 West Chester 2 - West Chester took down Millersville 2-0.
- Mansfield: Mansfield 0, Shepherd 2 - Mansfield dropped a road match to Shepherd 2-0.
