MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Women's soccer came back twice from one-goal deficits to defeat Lock Haven for the second time this season on Wednesday night.
Millersville (4-4-3, 4-4-2 PSAC East) went down early off a goal from Lock Haven (4-6-1, 2-6-1 PSAC East) defender Abby Burdyn. The goal occurred just before the two minute mark in the match. The Marauders would respond 30 minutes later when
Rachel Leisher connected with
Kylie Sullivan off a cross from the left side of the box.
The second half started with a Lock Haven score just four minutes in to put the Bald Eagles up 2-1. Eva Stoessel fired the initial shot in at Millersville keeper
Reagan Kolinski which was saved, however Evelyn Ciaccia followed the rebound and put her team up one.
Millersville was down one with 11 minutes to go in the match until
Morgan Winchock got on the right end of a loose ball in the box and scored the equalizer. Six minutes after the Winchock goal, Millersville struck again.
Lauren Downey shot a ball into the bottom right corner at the 86th minute mark that resulted in a save, however
Savannah Rennix was right on the rebound and sent it in to give Millersville the lead with less than four minutes to play. Ciacca recorded one more shot on goal that wouldn't get past Kolinski giving the Marauders a much needed 3-2 win on the road.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Burdyn gave the Bald Eagles a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the match with an unassisted goal.
• Sullivan would respond at the 31st minute mark with a goal of her own. Leisher recorded an assist on the goal.
• Ciaccia gave the Bald Eagles their second lead of the match early in the second half off a rebounded shot from teammate Stoessel.
• Millersville scored two goals in less than seven minutes to come home with a win. The first came from Winchock in the 79th minute of play off a loose ball in the box that she was able to convert on. The second came from Rennix in the 86th minute when she retrieved a rebound off a Downey shot to give Ville the win.

• On the overall play tonight: "I thought we played well outside of the goal in the first half. The second half was challenging and not our best, but we found the goals we needed so that's the positive."
• On Rennix's impact in key moments: "Glad to see Savannah score. She has scored at key times, which is good. Hopefully we don't push ourselves in these positions much more."
