MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Women's soccer came back twice from one-goal deficits to defeat Lock Haven for the second time this season on Wednesday night.
Millersville (4-4-3, 4-4-2 PSAC East) went down early off a goal from Lock Haven (4-6-1, 2-6-1 PSAC East) defender Abby Burdyn. The goal occurred just before the two minute mark in the match. The Marauders would respond 30 minutes later when Rachel Leisher connected with Kylie Sullivan off a cross from the left side of the box.
The second half started with a Lock Haven score just four minutes in to put the Bald Eagles up 2-1. Eva Stoessel fired the initial shot in at Millersville keeper Reagan Kolinski which was saved, however Evelyn Ciaccia followed the rebound and put her team up one.
Millersville was down one with 11 minutes to go in the match until Morgan Winchock got on the right end of a loose ball in the box and scored the equalizer. Six minutes after the Winchock goal, Millersville struck again. Lauren Downey shot a ball into the bottom right corner at the 86th minute mark that resulted in a save, however Savannah Rennix was right on the rebound and sent it in to give Millersville the lead with less than four minutes to play. Ciacca recorded one more shot on goal that wouldn't get past Kolinski giving the Marauders a much needed 3-2 win on the road.
