"Get to Know the Marauders" is a feature that gives fans a more in-depth look at the coaches and staff of Millersville Athletics. Kristin Kunzman is a 2008 graduate of Millersville and has served as the women's basketball assistant coach since 2017-18. Kunzman spent two seasons as a player at Millersville. Favorite coaching moment? "Winning a conference championship."
Favorite memory as an athlete? "NCAA Tournament, March Madness!"
Favorite professional athlete? "Kobe Bryant. I was a Lakers fan growing up and loved all the work he was doing for our game (women's basketball) since his retirement. He is greatly missed."
Most amazing on-court moment from your coaching career? "Buzzer beaters!"
Three books that inspired you as a coach? 'The Energy Bus' by Jon Gordon, 'The Leadership Manual' by Jeff Jansen, "'Sum It Up' by Pat Summitt."
Who inspired you to coach? "All the coaches I played for inspired me to get into this profession. I learned from each of them and still carry many things with me from each of them."
Homecoming with fellow women's basketball alumsFunniest player you've coached? "Dakotah Turner. I coached her while I was at UVA-Wise and she could always find a way to make me and her teammates laugh!"
Favorite bus ride activity? "Watching Redbox movies the men's team brings."
What do you do in your time away from the sport? "Travel and spend time with family and friends!"
Three movies you could watch any time? "'Shawshank Redemption,' 'Rainman,' 'The Heat.'
Your workout or car trip playlist? "Workout: 90's pop or 2000's hip hop. Car trip: Shania Twain."
Favorite series to binge watch? "'Schitt's Creek' at the moment!"
What would you do if you weren't coaching? "Teaching."
What is a talent that fans wouldn't know about? "I know American Sign Language (ASL)."
