LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Millersville University junior Aliyah Striver earned the PSAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award for her performances in the shot put and weight throw at the Fastrack National Invitational.
This is the second indoor field weekly award for Striver on the season and the third for her career. Striver beat out 44 other competitors to win the shot put and set a new personal-best distance of 47-3 ¾, a record by eight inches. In the weight throw, Striver placed fourth with a distance of 51-11 ¼.
The toss also cleared the previous best shot put mark in the PSAC by nearly three feet. Striver now owns the 14th best distance in Division II for the 2019-20 season.
Striver and the Marauders travel to New Jersey for the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 23.
