MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - With three major decisions in the final four bouts, Millersville emphatically finished Wednesday's 39-6 dual meet victory over Delaware Valley. Millersville won four of the six contested matches and also accepted four forfeits.

Malik Jackson (174), Reece Muldoon (197) and Joshua Walls (285) each picked up major decision wins, and 184-pound Evan Morrill muscled out a 7-5 decision to help Millersville sweep the last four matches of the dual. Devin Flannery (125), Ryan McGuire (141), Brandon Connor (157) and Jarrett Feeney (165) each provided the Marauders six points on forfeits.

Millersville, now 6-8, has won four of its last five duals, and Wednesday's 33-point win was its largest margin of victory this season. Delaware Valley dropped to 5-10 with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• At 133 pounds, Millersville freshman gave the now 26-1 Kordell Rush a scare. Rush managed a takedown and reversal in the first period for a 4-3 lead, but Lehman escaped to the start the second, tying the match. He then scored two on a takedown for a 6-4 lead and stayed in control for nearly a full minute, but Rush, in the closing seconds of the second period, managed his second reversal of the match to even the score entering the third. Rush started the third on bottom for rolled around Lehman for a reversal and 8-6 lead. He tacked on four back points as time ran out for a 12-6 decision.
• At 149 pounds, Delaware Valleys's Evan Widing earned his 19th win of the season with a 7-1 win over Millersville freshman Elijah Tuckey. But those were the last points for the Rams.
• Jackson started the 174-pound bout with Jake Nase with a takedown at 1:03 and rode out the rest of the period. A quick escape to start the second was followed followed by a takedown at the edge of the mat. Jackson cut loose Nase and went to work, going up 7-1 in the final minute of the second period. He added one more takedown early in the third and piled up 4:34 of riding time for a 10-1 major decision.
Evan Morrill scored first in the 184-pound match-up with Kyle Hillermeier, getting a low shot on Hillermeier's legs for a takedown with 38 seconds left in the first period. Hillermeier escaped just before time expired. Morrill started the second period in down position and escaped within seconds for a 3-1 lead. Late in the period, following a single-leg shot by Morrill, both wrestlers went to the mat and a scramble resulted in Hillermeier gaining the advantage, but Morrill reversed with eight seconds left to take a 5-3 lead into the final period. Hillermeier had choice to start the third and opened with an escaped, with just over a minute remaining, however, Morrill turned around Hillermeier for a clinching takedown and a 7-5 decision.
• Millersville's third consecutive win came in the form of a 16-3 major for Muldoon at 197. Early in the first, Kyle Williams snatched Muldoon's leg and looked to sweep him to the mat. But Muldoon countered and when the wrestlers went down, Muldoon worked around Williams to wrap him up for a takedown. Working on the edge of the mat, Muldoon turned Williams and picked up four back points. He picked up two more on a nearfall before Williams escaped the predicament. Muldoon escaped from the down position to start the second period and then dropped Williams for two more and added four more back points. Williams, however, managed to hold off Muldoon's offense in the third period to prevent the technical fall.
• Facing Youssef Ait Boulahri at 285, Walls scored first with a takedown before even 30 seconds ticked off the clock. He added a takedown and two points on a nearfall before the end of the period. Walls stayed in control the rest of the way to polish off a 14-4 major decision.

POST-MATCH REACTION FROM COACH KERRY REGNER
On closing the dual with three major decisions: "It's important to know what time of the season it is. We are training hard and training through these competitions and at the same time they are meaningful. The guys know that what we do throughout the week will prepare them for competition. I was very pleased with Walls. He had a lot of very good, textbook technique. It was nice to see Malik grind through that match and get a major."
On Muldoon returning to action: "I think he was still shaking off some rust tonight. Early, he was in a bad position and made it his own and put a lot of points on the board. I'd like to see him finish that match and not let it go seven minutes but it was good to see him fight through those bad positions."
On what the team wants to accomplished the remainder of the regular season: "Stay focused. If we stay focused and know this is a rehearsal for the end of the year, good things are going to happen. Let's go out and try to win, but let's stay focused and not get bent out of shape or too excited about our results."

NOTES
• Since returning to the lineup in January after missing more than a month of action, Muldoon is 3-0 with a pin and technical fall.
• Walls' major decision was his second of the season and first since the second match of his season in November. Jackson's major decision was his first of the season.
• Flannery has registered a win in eight of his last nine matches to improve to 12-4.
