Cross country opens season with annual Alumni Run

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team opened its 2019 season with the annual Alumni Run 5K at Baker Field in Lancaster, Pa. Kutztown and Franklin & Marshall also participated in the event.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
• Millersville finished third in the three team event, totaling 63 points with Kutztown taking first with 27 points. Franklin & Marshall finished with 36. Kutztown placed five runners in the top 10.
• Yoangelys Rijo-Cedeno was Millersville's top finisher, placing ninth with a time of 20:38. Sophomore Jillian Miller took 12th with a time of 20:45. Natalie Poulton (20:50) and Kaitlyn Leister (20:55) finished in 15th and 16th respectively. Abbey Sullivan rounded out Millersville's top five with a time of 21:06, good for 17th place.
• Kutztown's Lindsay Hoffman took first place in 20:10. The top 15 runners ran times under 21 minutes.
NOTES
• Millersville had 17 runners compete in the event.
• Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame member Jo Rupp '96 placed fourth with a time of 20:19.

• Millersville travels to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Invitational on Sept. 14.
