LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Millersville University women's cross country team placed 23rd in a field of 37 teams at Saturday's Lock Haven Invitational held at West Branch Cross Country Course.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH ANDY YOUNG
• On improving the team's pack running: "We did a much better job this week executing the plan. I think we are a bit more ready for the races coming up now. It's just a matter of staying healthy, working hard and keeping a positive momentum.
• On running in a big field of runners: "Because of the race plan today I put our team in a bit of a hole by asking them to go out a bit slower today. They did a great job of passing and moving forward but there were so many women racing that it was tough for them to do at narrow sections of the course. Overall, it was a solid race with many PRs today. We all know the best racing is yet to come.
NOTES
• Rijo-Cedeno, Poulton, Bland, Ranck, Rudderow, Jillian Miller and Brianna Brennan all ran career-best times.
UP NEXT
• Millersville is off until Saturday, Oct. 12 when it travels to the Bloomsburg Invitational.
