Millersville University Athletics and UPMC Lititz announce sports medicine partnership

LITITZ, Pa. – UPMC Lititz announced a new sports medicine partnership with the Millersville University athletic department. John Murphy, DO, a primary care sports medicine specialist with UPMC Orthopaedic Specialists of Central PA, has become head team physician for the athletic department, effective July 1.
"We are extremely excited to announce this partnership. With UPMC Pinnacle's outstanding reputation and resources, we have greatly improved the overall care for our student-athletes," said Miles Gallagher, director of athletics at Millersville University. "In addition, this partnership provides our athletic trainers with the tools they need to properly and effectively treat our student-athletes."
"I am looking forward to working with the talented athletes and experienced staff at Millersville University and helping the athletes excel at their chosen sports in a safe and healthy way," said Dr. Murphy.
As part of the partnership, Dr. Murphy will be on campus each Monday to conduct clinics for injured student-athletes.
