Bloomsburg, Pa. - In a back and forth battle that featured eight lead changes and seven ties it was the Millersville University women's lacrosse team that came out on top, upsetting No. 25 Bloomsburg on the road on Saturday afternoon. This marks the Marauders' first road win against a nationally-ranked opponent in the last 11 seasons and the fewest goals they have allowed to a nationally-ranked opponent since their 10-6 win over then-No. 10 Lock Haven on April 20, 2016.
Millersville (4-3, 2-1 PSAC) earns its first road win of the season, while the Huskies (6-2, 2-1 PSAC) suffer their first home loss of the season.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• After Bloomsburg tied the game with 2:44 left on the clock the Marauders won the subsequent draw control, but the Huskies managed to regain the ball.

• Bloomsburg won the following draw control but
Sarah Leverentz caused a turnover to give the Marauders the ball with 29 seconds left on the clock. The Huskies defense managed to get the ball back and Cailyn Gormley fired off a last second desperation shot, but the Millersville defense blocked it and
Shannon Davis scooped up the final ground ball of the game to secure the victory for the Marauders.
• Bloomsburg scored the first goal of the game, but back-to-back goals by Speights in the span of 12 seconds gave Millersville the lead. The Huskies tied the game at the 18:22 mark, but would not score again in the first half.
Gillian Zimmerman gave the Marauders the lead again with her 14th tally of the season at the 15:44 mark and there would be no more scoring until
Sarah Leverentz notched her 10th goal of the season with just 24 seconds remaining in the half. Millersville's 4-2 lead at halftime was the only time either team led by more than one goal.
• Anna Dempsey proved to be a thorn in the Marauders' side during the second half. She scored the first goal of the half to make it a one-point game and would later tie the game, 5-5, at the 16:53 mark. Millersville regained the lead after a goal by Speights, but Dempsey then scored two-consecutive goals in the span of three minutes to give Bloomsburg its first lead since the opening minutes.

Sara Burney and
Erin Fagan scored back-to-back goals to give the Marauders an 8-7 lead, but Kirsten Wozniak would eventually tie the game with 2:44 left on the clock.

Natalie Sukanick tallied team highs with five ground balls and four caused turnovers, while
Jasa Lorah wasn't far behind with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Leverentz and Speights each registered three ground balls and two caused turnovers, with Leverentz winning a game-high five draw controls.

Shannon Davis held down the defense and totaled a season-high 16 saves in net.
NOTES
• The Huskies outshot the Marauders, 34-25, but held a much smaller 24-22 advantage in shots on goal.
• This is the fewest goals Millersville has scored in a win since its 9-8 victory over Slippery Rock on April 22, 2017.
• The win snaps a two-game losing streak to Bloomsburg.
