Men's tennis drops 5-2 decision at Edinboro

Box Score Edinboro, Pa. - Coming off a win last night that didn't end until the early hours of this morning, an exhausted Millersville University men's tennis team battled tough in a 5-2 loss at Edinboro, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) runner up last season, on Saturday afternoon.

The Marauders (2-10, 0-1 PSAC) drop their first road game of the spring season, while the Fighting Scots (9-4, 1-0 PSAC) remain undefeated at home with a record of 7-0. 

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
Carlos Martinez-Lucas cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory a flight one singles. He is now 7-2 in singles play during the spring.
Rodrigo Lorencin won a tightly-contested flight six singles match. He took the first set, 6-4, but dropped the second set, 6-3, before winning a very close third set, 11-9.
Ben Fellman narrowly lost a nail-biting flight four singles match. He lost the first set on a 7-5 tiebreaker, but bounced back to win a 7-4 tiebreaker in the second set. Unfortunately, he fell just short in the third set, 10-5.

NOTES
• This marks the Fighting Scots' seventh-straight win over Millersville dating back to 2012, but the Marauders still lead the all-time series, 17-11.

UP NEXT
• Millersville stays on the road and plays its third match in as many days when it faces defending PSAC Champion Mercyhurst on Sunday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m. The Lakers are an undefeated 9-0 at home this season.
