ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The 25th-ranked Millersville University wrestling team looks to regain the Rupp Cup against Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday night after the Diplomats had it in their possession for the past eight years. The Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium for the regular season finale before the NCAA Super Regional 1 Championships on Saturday, Feb. 23.
• The Marauders head into the last week of the regular season coming off a 27-15 win over Shippensburg. The Marauders have a 3-7 overall record and 1-5 conference record as they head into the upcoming NCAA Super Regional.
• The Rupp Cup has been an annual competition between the Diplomats and the Marauders going back to 2007-08 season.
• Millersville is led by third-ranked Shane Ruhnke who is looking to capture his 20th win on the season which would mark his fourth season of 20 or more wins. At this point last year, Ruhnke had five losses compared to this year's three. So far this season, Ruhnke's record against Division I wrestlers is 10-2.
• Freshman Ryan McGuire holds a 17-10 record. McGuire has been on roll, winning nine of his last 12 matches. After going 3-2 at the "Shorty" Classic, McGuire has gone 6-1 in his last seven matches with his lone loss coming to a Division I opponent. In those seven bouts, McGuire has won by three decision while also earning two technical falls and one forfeit. McGuire is one win away from tying Ruhnke for the team lead in dual victories. McGuire is only the fourth true freshman to earn 17 or more wins in a seasons since the 2007-08 season.
• At heavyweight, redshirt senior David Wuestner looks to respond after losing back-to-back matches against Kuztown and Shippensburg. Since the Kutztown duals, Wuestner is 1-3 with the lone win coming against Gannon's Keith Swartley in a 2-1 decision. Wuestner needs one more victory to tie his 2016-17 win total of 14.
• After recovering from an injury, 197-pound Colton Dull returned to the mat against Shippensburg and won a 14-2 major decision. Before Saturday's dual, Dull last wrestled at the David H. Lehman Open.
• 174-pound freshman Anthony Yacovetti scored a key pin against Shippensburg, helping the Marauders earn the win. Yacovetti broke a three-dual losing streak by pinning Austin Klucker at the 2:35 mark--his second career pin.
• Four Marauders have wrestled against Diplomats this year with Ruhnke being the only one to win. Ruhnke faced Crew Fullerton in the first round of the David H. Lehman Open and overpowered the Diplomat in a 19-4 technical fall. Wuestner saw No. 32 Antonio Pelusi in the same event but was pinned within the first minute of the bout. Joshua Walls and Caleb Warner battled Diplomats this year and were defeated.
• The marquee matchup is at the 197-pound weight class where Dull will face Philip Robilotto. Dull leads his team with six tech falls and Robilotto leads his team with seven pins.
