THE MATCH-UP
• Millersville head coach J.C. Morgan goes way back with Mercyhurst head coach Marty Schaetzle. When Morgan was playing running back for the Bison, Schaetzle, a Bucknell graduate himself, was his offensive coordinator. Mercyhurst defensive coordinator David Kotulski was also on staff at Bucknell in that era, and was responsible for recruiting Morgan.
• Millersville entered week one with 65 players on the roster that had never played a Division II football game. It has been a trial by fire for the young team as the Marauders' strength of schedule ranks No. 2 in all of Division II. Millersville's opponents to date have combined for a 56-33 record (.629), and with Mercyhurst at 5-5, the strength of schedule will jump to No. 1. Gannon is the only other PSAC team to rank in the nation's top 10 in strength of schedule. By opponent winning percentage, East Stroudsburg has the easiest schedule in the PSAC, ranking 155th out of 167 Division II teams.
• A total of 16 true freshmen have played snaps and eight redshirt freshmen have also played prominent roles. Nasir Best earned his first career start last week at Kutztown and is the eighth true freshman to start on offense this season.
• One of those rookies is Isaiah Onuschak, who will certainly be in the discussion for PSAC East Freshman of the Year. Onuschak is the PSAC leader in tackles with 10.3 per game. His 103 made him the fifth Marauder since 2000 to total 100 in a season. His seven sacks are also the most by a Marauder since 2001 and are tied for fourth in the PSAC. He also is tied for the PSAC lead with four forced fumbles.
Chase Alisauckas recorded a career-high nine tackles against Kutztown and also recorded a half sack. He has at least a half sack in three of the last four games and has made at least a half tackle for loss in six of the last seven games. He now is second on the team with 8 1/2 TFL. Christian Martir recorded a career-high 17 tackles against Kutztown and now ranks fourth in the PSAC in tackles.
Evan Morrill has been doing a bit of everything for the Marauders this season. Because of injuries, he was pressed into quarterback duty against Shepherd and against Kutztown. He threw a 17-yard touchdown pass in addition to catching three passes for 45 yards and rushing seven times for 22 against Shepherd. Against Kutztown, he threw four passes, led the team in rushing with 72 yards on 18 carres (including a 14-yard touchdown run) and also caught a team-high five passes for 53 yards. Morrill has thrown three career touchdown passes (two as a wide receiver in 2018). He has set career highs in receptions (39) and yards (527) and leads the team in both categories. He also serves as the team's long snapper, and this is all in addition to being Millersville's starting 184-pounder in wrestling season.
• Millersville was flagged just three times in week 10 and with just 57 penalties committed this season, Millersville is tied for first with Bloomsburg for the fewest penalties committed by a PSAC team.

ABOUT THE LAKERS
• Mercyhurst is coming off a 57-10 win over Clarion in which it scored a season high in points behind 345 rushing yards and five turnovers caused. Garrett Owens, who totaled 192 yards and three touchdowns, was named PSAC West Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week. Owens broke a school record with a 98-yard touchdown run as well. Mercyhurst has won convincingly in the last two games, out-scoring opponents 84-17 in the two games. While last week it was with the running game, the week before against Gannon, the Lakers threw for 355 yards. The Lakers rank right in the middle of the PSAC in scoring offense (eighth/27.8) and defense (seventh/26.0). Owens is sixth in the PSAC in rushing with 804 yards. His 181 carries is second in the league. His 15 touchdowns also rank second. On defense, Alex Zacharyasz is seventh in the PSAC in tackles with 8.3 per game. Bradley Burrows is seventh in the PSAC in sacks with 6 1/2.

COACH J.C. MORGAN'S SCOUTING REPORT
On the team's progress through the first 10 weeks: "It's been great to see the progress that many individuals have made, the progress that some position units have made. As a coach it has been fun to watch. Our coaching staff has done a great job with our younger players, getting them ready to play. We are looking beyond the scoreboard with some of that stuff but that's where you see the biggest growth happening and that will pay off."
On the improvement of the offensive line: "Coach Kelleher has done a great job. They have really bought into his coaching the last few weeks. They are competing and fighting like crazy and that's what you want from the offensive line."
On the development of the program's culture: "It's going well. We still have a lot of work to do but you are starting to see that develop. This last week is very important--to finish strong and establish the mindset of preparing to win football games. When they come back in January it's going to be huge. That will be the first go-around with us for a lot of guys and that's where you really start to establish the identity."
On scouting Mercyhurst: "They are not a three yards and a cloud of dust type of team. They are doing a good job mixing up the run and the pass. They are a very physical group on defense. They give you a lot of different looks. They've given teams problems throughout the season."
On coaching against a former coach: "It's exciting. He's been a great friend to me ever since I got into the profession and since taking this position he has called to check in on me. Battling it out head-to-head is fun. I'm sure he wants to get at me and I want to get at him. Their defensive coordinator recruited me to Bucknell, so matching wits with him is pretty exciting. I've heard from some former teammates and they are paying attention so we want to put on a good show."

THE LAST TIME OUT
MILLERSVILLE (Kutztown (L, 17-37)): Millersville scored on its first possession with a 40-yard TD from Collin Shank to Kevon Newerls, but Shank was injured on the next drive and Millersville's offense could not keep pace with the PSAC East champs. Kutztown totaled 517 yards and topped 300 on the ground while Millersville finished with 184--122 after the first drive.
MERCYHURST (Clarion (W, 57-10)): The Mercyhurst offense rushed for over 300 yards and the Laker defense forced five turnovers as Mercyhurst cruised to a 57-10 victory. The Lakers wasted little time against the Golden Eagles stopping the first Clarion possession with an interception by Hunter MerrittDoug Altavilla found Marcus Placke for 34-yards on the first play from scrimmage

The Marauders found running the ball tough sledding and instead attempted 51 passes. Mercyhurst's Doug Altavilla completed just 12 passes but three of them were touchdowns--two of which were caught by Clay Waldron.
