No. 2 field hockey welcomes Queens for a Sunday afternoon matchup

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The No.2-ranked Millersville field hockey team welcomes Queens field hockey for the teams' fourth-ever matchup this Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. on Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

The Marauders have come face-to-face with the Royals three times since 2016, winning all three contests between the two teams. This will be the 11th game this season for both teams.

Millersville enters the game with a record of 9-2 coming off a loss from No. 6 Shippensburg. Queens comes to Millersville with a record of 7-4 following two wins on the road at Converse College.

The Marauders will welcome back a number of alumni on Sunday to recognize and thank them for their contribution to the Millersville field hockey program over the years. 
 
ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The Millersville roster hosts 17 goal scorers with as many as six different players scoring in a single game this season.
• Millersville has recorded 33 goals, 216 shots with 138 on goal and 131 penalty corners in 11 games. They have kept their opponents to just seven goals, 80 shots with 42 on goal and 64 penalty corners.
• The Marauders' goalkeeping unit has made 35 saves this season.
• Senior Erica Tarsi leads the team in goals scored (7) and assists (5). Tarsi sits at third on the all-time career scoring leaders chart with 94 total points. She also ties for third in all-time career goals scored with 37.
• Kyra Brakefield (4), Emma Boutcher (4), Hannah Brown (3) and Asia Weaver (3) have all scored multiple goals for Millersville this season.
• Annabelle Tierney and Brakefield are tied for the second-most assists on the team with three each.
• Autumn Peters has started in all 11 games and has recorded 601 minutes in the cage. She made a season-high 10 saves off 24 shots faced in the game against West Chester (Oct. 2).

• Then-No. 4 Millersville faced Queens on the road in their 2018 season-opener.
• Erica Tarsi opened up the scoring for the Marauders in the 10th minute of the game by winning a one-on-one with the Queens goalkeeper.
• Aliza Mizak tacked on three goals for her second-career hat trick. She scored the teams' second, fifth and seventh goals of the game.
• Emma Boutcher, Kyra Brakefield and Annabelle Tierney all added to the Marauders' scoring effort.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Hanna Nechay, Victoria Tredinnick and Mazvita Mtisi lead the Royals with five goals each this season.
• Gabe Lechner leads in assists with eight.
• The Royals have 39 goals, 186 shots with 111 on goal and 114 penalty corners in 11 games.
•  The goalkeeping unit has made 47 total saves this season.
• Queens has held their opponents to 18 goals, 96 shots with 50 on goal and 50 penalty corners.
