ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
  • The No. 5 Millersville University field hockey team enters Wednesday with an overall record of 2-0. The team last played on Sept. 2, when they defeated Converse College 7-0. Two games on its schedule have been postponed since then.
  • The Marauders won their first game of the season by a score of 7-2, marking the first time in program history they began their season with seven goals in their first two matches. It's the most goals the team has scored in its first two games since 1973.
  • Aliza Mizak notched a hat trick in the team's season opener, earning her both Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Athlete of the Week and Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Millersville's 14 goals rank second in the PSAC, while its two goals allowed are tied for the fewest.

  • Alexis Gazzio scored the lone goal of the game in the 18th minute thanks to a great pass from the right side by Erica Tarsi.
  • Kylee Bair made four stops in the cage to record the shutout.
  • The two teams were even in shots at 12-12, with West Chester holding a slight 7-6 advantage in corners.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
  • The No. 4 Golden Rams are coming off a 7-0 victory of their own over Indiana (Pa.). West Chester improved its record to 2-1 with the win. Emma Velez notched a hat trick, while Marissa Elizardo registered the one-save shutout.
  • Velez leads the team in goals (4) and points (8), while Katie Thompson and Caitie McNamara are tied for the team lead in assists (3). Three Golden Rams are tied for second on the team in goals (2).
  • Elizardo owns a 1.67 goals against average (GAA) to go along with a .667 save percentage. The Golden Rams have outscored their opponents 16-5.
  • Although both teams compete in the PSAC East, this will act as a nonconference match.
