Amanda Myers and
Erin Harman were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honorees Thursday. The Millersville University track and field team was also recognized as an All-Academic Team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
Harman, a mathematics major, finished the academic year with a 3.88 GPA. This is her third All-Academic honor. Harman holds the indoor and outdoor pole vault records at Millersville. Harman was a dual-sport athlete, also playing volleyball.
Myers is now a three-time honoree. Myers graduated with a 3.30 GPA. She placed fifth in the javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to capture her third All-American honor. At the 2018 PSAC Outdoor Championships, Myers threw a 155-8 in the javelin which got her second.
As a team, the Marauders produced a 3.28 GPA during the 2017-18 academic year. For a team to be eligible, the squad has to combine for a 3.0 GPA or higher to receive the award. This is the 11th consecutive season that the team has claimed the honor.
