| By:
Millersville, Pa. – The No. 18 Millersville University wrestling team could not overcome No. 21 Mercyhurst's start in a 35-5 loss on Friday night at Pucillo Gymnasium.

The Lakers earn their first dual match victory of the season while the Marauder suffer their third.

DUAL HIGHLIGHTS
• The Lakers began with No. 8 ranked, 125-pound Eric Bartos scoring a 15-4 major decision which put them up 4-0 early. From that point, the Lakers had the momentum for the whole dual.
• At 133, freshman Ryan McGuire and Alexis Soriano went down to the wire but Soriano came out on top, scoring a 6-5 win. The bout was tied at 5-5 with seconds remaining. On their feet, the wrestlers worked toward the edge of the mat and McGuire was called for stalling. That proved to be the deciding point.
• The Lakers kept the momentum going with a pin, a decision and a major decision victory for a 23-0 advantage going into the 165-pound weight class.
• A battle of two nationally-ranked wrestlers went the Lakers way with No. 12 Logan Grass topping No. 4 Shane Ruhnke, 10-3. Ruhnke had an early 2-0 advantage with a takedown with 1:45 left in the first. Grass escaped and then had a takedown with a minute left in the period. Grass continued to build the advantage.
• Mercyhurst responded after the 165-pound battle with a fall at 174 and a hard-fought 9-3 decision at 184. At 197, senior Colton Dull came out of the gate strong to win in dominant, 19-2 fashion. Dull ended the first period with a 12-2 advantage. At 285, nationally-ranked Jake Robb finished the match off with a 2-0 victory.
