ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The No. 18-ranked Millersville University wrestling team makes its 2018 home debut on Friday at Pucillo Gymnasium. After a 1-2 start to the 2018-19 season, the Marauders will be back in action this weekend against Mercyhurst at 7 p.m.
• Friday is the final tune-up for the the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Dec. 8. Millersville won its first dual against Delaware Valley 21-14, before losing to No. 6 Pitt-Johnstown (30-6) and No. 21 Seton Hill (29-13).
• 2018 All-American and fourth-ranked redshirt senior Shane Ruhnke (165) is off to a 2-0 start this season. Ruhnke triumphed over two nationally-ranked individuals in Pitt-Johnstown's fifth-ranked Devin Austin and Seton Hill's seventh-ranked Damon Greenwald. Ruhnke captured a 12-6 decision victory against Austin. The 165-pound bout was a rematch from 2017 NCAA Super Region 1 dual where Austin won 12-8. The next day, Ruhnke bumped up to the 174-pound class for a 23-8 tech fall.
• Freshman Reece Muldoon (174) leads the squad in victories with six, entering the weekend with a 6-2 record. Muldoon placed fifth in the Washington and Lee Invitational. Muldoon also leads the team in pins (2)--one coming against Lycoming's Ryan Bohringer at 6:08 mark and Pitt-Bradford's Nick Distefano 18 seconds into the bout.
• Senior Colton Dull (197), ranked sixth in Division II, has a team-leading three technical falls, which account for all of his wins.
• Head coach Kerry Regner looks to begin the dual off strong with Connor Sheehan, who has two of his three duals matches at the 125-pound weight class. Sheehan's last dual victory came from the Seton Hill matchup where he won, 13-6.
• There are three key projected match-ups for this dual at the 125-, 165- and 285-pound weight classes. None of the six wrestlers have faced off before.
• In the heavyweight battle, the region's No. 4 Wuestner wrestles the region's No. 1 and nation's No. 8 Jake Robb. Robb is a former All-American coming off a 23-7 season.
• Sheehan will face off against No. 6 Eric Bartos who was a national qualifier last season.
• The No. 1 and No. 2-ranked 165-pound wrestlers in Super Region 1--Ruhnke and Logan Grass--meet for the first time. Grass finished last season with a third-place finish in the Super Region 1 Championships and was a national qualifier.
