
Women’s swimming wraps up weekend with a win over Alderson-Broaddus

Fairmont, W.Va. – The Millersville University women's swimming squad claimed a 117-59 victory over Alderson-Broaddus Saturday morning. Five Marauders earned first-place finishes.

Junior Amanda Wetzler, sophomore Kirsten Strayer, junior Judith Miller and sophomore Alexis Shollenberger recorded a 2:30.50 in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing first in the event.
In the 200-yard individual medley, junior Madisson Cartmill touched the wall at 2:30.78, capturing first place. Wetzler swam a 26.28 in the 50-yard freestyle to win the event. Miller earned her own win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.13. In the 100-yard freestyle, Shollenberger recorded a time of 58.92, finishing first in the event.
Wetzler finished her day by winning her second individual event, taking the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 1:06.83.
Senior Gabriella Licata finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:18.55. Freshman Alexis Bowen recorded her best individual finish, placing second in the 200 free with a time of 2:11.28.
The Marauders have a week off until they travel to Lock Haven on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.
