Fairmont, W.Va. – The Millersville University women's swimming team competed in three dual meets Friday night at Fairmont State. The squad was victorious in one of the three.
The Marauders won their dual against host Fairmont State, 101-94. Millersville was defeated by conference opponents, Shippensburg and Cal (Pa.).
The Marauders' top finish came from junior
Judith Miller's third -place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.05.
Junior
Amanda Wetzler touched the wall at 26.44, finishing in sixth in the 50-yard freestyle. Wetzler added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke by recording a 1:04.80. In the 50 free, junior
Alexis Shollenberger posted a 26.31 time, capturing a fourth-place finish.
Senior
Gabriella Licata posted a 2:29.61 in the 200-yard individual medley, putting her in sixth.
All of the freshmen recorded their first individual swims of their careers. That included
Alexis Bowen finishing sixth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:59.85) and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:49.92).
Fiona Stewart finished in eighth place in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 1:09.52. Maddi Stoner earned seventh place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:01.73.
Lucia Martin finished in 10th place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:44.57).
In the 200-yard medley relay, Millersville's A squad captured fourth place, totaling a time of 1:58.40. The squad included
Madisson Cartmill,
Kirsten Strayer, Miller and Wetzler.
The Marauders stay at Fairmont State to swim against Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.
