Second half comeback sparked by Liebl's hat-trick helps No. 22 Millersville push past Lock Haven

Lock Haven, Pa. – A second half comeback led by junior Kay Liebl's hat-trick helped the No. 22 Millersville women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Lock Haven Wednesday at Hubert Jack Stadium. The Marauders captured their 13th victory of the season.

The Marauders clinch a top four seeding in the PSAC Tournament with tonight's victory, insuring a first round home playoff match. It will be the first home playoff game since the 2003 semifinal. Millersville is a win away from tying the all-time wins record with 14, which was also set in 2003.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• In the 58th minute, Liebl scored an equalizer, tying the game at 1-1. A low-lining pass by senior Delaney Meadows from the left post found Liebl at the top of the box.
• The Bald Eagles converted their second goal in a span of four minutes to retake the lead, however. A quick pass on the right side into the box for a one-time finish into the back of the goal came in the 62nd minute.
• The Marauders responded, though. In the next five minutes, a deep pass from sophomore Talia Grynkewicz in midfield found Liebl speeding up the field. Liebl won the battle against the Lock Haven defense and got an open opportunity to shoot. She converted by besting the keeper high to the far post. That tied the game for the second time.
• The game-winner came when Meadows sent a ball to the right side of the attack where Liebl received on a one-on-one chance. Liebl collected the ball and finished to the far left post to conclude her three-goal night.

HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO QUOTES
• "Defensively, we had to know where [their leading scorer, Marah Foltz] was at all times. She is a very talented player. Collectively, the girls did a great job in limiting her chances. Paige Mancini made some outstanding plays against her."
• "Earning a home playoff game is huge. I am very proud of what the girls have accomplished, it's a credit to their effort and hard work. With that said, we must stay focused and prepare for Gannon on Saturday."
• [Grynkewicz and Liebl] were tremendous tonight, they created a lot of opportunities. That is a credit to our team as everyone helped get them in position to get shots off."
• "There is not much you can really say but [Kay Liebl] is simply outstanding."
