Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's swimming team finished its last home meet of the 2017-18 season with a 125-79 loss against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe East Stroudsburg.
Sophomore
Judith Miller narrowly missed the PSAC Championships time standard in the 100-yard butterfly. Miller hit the wall at 1:02.67 in which she was 0.54 away from the PSACÂ time. Miller finished in second place. That was the team's fastest 100 fly time this season.Â
Freshman
Leah Barrett claimed second in the 50-yard freestyle. Barrett had a time of 25.63, 0.34 seconds slower than her season best. Junior
Amanda Wetzler earned a third place finish with a time of 25.88. Wetzler turned in her season best, beating her 26.86 at the Lynn Spring Invitational.
Before the meet, senior
Emily Fusco was honored along with
Teagan Hanlon and
Taylour Mauro for their contributions to the team as seniors. Fusco won the 100-yard backstroke three seconds in front of the second place swimmer. Fusco's time was 1:00.78.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Mauro broke her season best time by finishing in 5:58.80.Â
With a 1:12.20 in the 100-yard breaststroke, junior
Mariana Bernal earned second place. Sophomore
Madisson Cartmill posted the Marauders' top time in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.26.
The Marauders have a quick turnaround as they travel to Kutztown Saturday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
