
Cross country runs fifth at the Dutchmen Invitational, Rudderrow leads the team

Lebanon, Pa. – Millersville women's cross country placed fifth out of 14 in the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College. Freshman Elizabeth Rudderrow claimed the top spot on the team with a time of 21:22.95 for a 26th place finish.
All Millersville runners finished inside the top 35. Four of Millersville's top five runners were freshmen.
Two seconds behind Rudderrow, freshman Alexa Happ took 27th place. One of the seniors who ran, Aniya Gibbs recorded a 21:51.24 run and captured 30th position.
Freshmen Julia Murphy and Yoangelys Rijo-Cedeno reached the finish line with a five second difference between each other. Murphy grabbed 31st with a time of 21:51.99 and Rijo-Cedeno was two spots behind in 21:56.24.
Lebanon Valley won the invitational with four runners in the top 10. Sophomore Kate Mowrey sprinted into third place for a 19:43.76 pace.
The individual winner was Point Park's junior Anna Shields who had a two minute margin between her and the second place finisher. Shields ran at a time of 17:47.72. The junior broke the course record, originally set by LVC's Kelsey Patrick in 2015.
The Marauders have a week off and look to prepare for the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m.
