
Tropp in ninth after day one of PSAC Outdoor Championships

Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania - The PSAC Outdoor Championships began Thursday with Millersville's Madie Tropp competing in the first four events of the heptathlon. Tropp's first day total of 2,409 points put her in ninth place.
The heptathlon opened with Tropp's strongest event--the 100-meter hurdles. Tropp placed fourth in the 16-athlete field, posting a time of 15.34 for 797 points. Tropp cleared 4-10 1/4 in the high jump, placing in a tie for 8th. She took sixth in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 27.54, and landed in 15th in the shot put.
Tropp sits just 30 points out of eighth place. The long jump, javelin and 800-meter run cap the heptathlon Friday.
Prelims for the running events as well as the hammer throw, long jump, pole vault and shot put are also on Friday. The Marauders have four athletes ranked in the top 10 in the hammer, and Sunflower Greene is the top seed in the shot put. Erin Harman will compete in the pole vault, and Brianna Doherty is set to compete in the long jump.
