ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• Millersville baseball took three of four from East Stroudsburg last weekend, and that series may prove a turning point in the season for the Marauders, who went into the weekend two games under .500 in the PSAC East and came out even at 8-8. The Marauders are sitting in fourth in the division and chasing this weekend's opponent, Lock Haven, which enters at 11-5. Millersville moved back up to No. 19 in the Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll and after dropping out of the NCBWA poll last week, it returned at No. 24. Lock Haven is receiving votes in the Collegiate Baseball poll. Millersville is ranked third and Lock Haven is fourth in the most recent NCBWA Atlantic Region poll.
• Since a 4-7 stretch from March 24-April 9, Millersville has won five of six. Millersville has averaged 7.8 runs per game in those six games after scoring 4.4 per game in the previous 11. The Marauders also found ways to win last week. In three of the victories, Millersville trailed or were tied heading into its final at bat.
• A key over the last six games has been the emergence of the freshmen. Jimmy Cain went 9-for-19 with seven RBIs over the last week. Cain has a hit in seven consecutive games. Manning Brooks hit 7-for-19 (.368) with a .500 OBP. Eric Callahan hit .250 with a .381 OBP with four RBIs after hitting .184 with one RBI in his first 18 games and 38 at bats. Callahan is also getting comfortable in the field. He's committed just one error in his last 35 chances.
• Freshman pitcher Tyler Yankosky continued to excel against PSAC East competition. In four starts against division opponents, Yankosky is 2-0 with a 2.74 ERA, .132 batting average against and 21 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched.
Chas McCormick ranks in the PSAC's top 10 in hits, RBIs, home runs and steals. With 282 hits in his career, he is 22 short of the PSAC record. Millersville recent 5-1 run coincides with his move into the leadoff spot. He has hit 11-for-21 (.524) to leadoff innings this season.
Ted Williams has reached base in 15 consecutive games--the longest streak by a Marauder this season. He's drawn five walks in his last three games.

SERIES HISTORY
• Millersville swept last season's series and surrendered only six runs in the four games. Since Lock Haven joined the PSAC East in 2014, Millersville has won all 12 games and has been held to two runs or fewer in nine of those games. Lock Haven's last win in the series came in on April 14, 2008. It has never won at Cooper Park, and its last win at Millersville came in 2006.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
• Lock Haven is the surprise team of the PSAC this season, opening at 25-9 and 11-5 in the PSAC East after going 21-28-1 last season. Lock Haven last won 25 games (25-20-1) in 2002. That was also the last time Lock Haven was in the PSAC Tournament. The 2017 team is only five wins away from tying the program record. Head coach Jim Chester is in his third season and has improved the team's winning percentage each season.
• Lock Haven boasts a heavy-hitting lineup, which ranks second in the PSAC in average at .336. It also ranks second in slugging percentage and fourth in OBP. Seven players with at least 27 starts are hitting over .300 with Matt Lahn leading the way at .378. He also leads the team in homers (7) and RBIs (30).  Nick Stotler (.357) also has seven homers and leads the team with 12 steals.
• The pitching staff has been strong as well, ranking third in the PSAC in team ERA at 4.13. A strength of the staff is not putting runners on base. Its 79 walks is second in the league. And its nearly 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio is second only to Mercyhurst. Mike Anthony and Jacob Belinda have combined for seven complete games.
