GAME OVERVIEW
• Millersville returns to Pucillo Gymnasium to try and build a winning streak to take into the new year. Before the holiday break, the Marauders displayed their mental toughness in our nation's capital and defeated District of Columbia 82-79. The Marauders watched a 13 point lead slip away and had to play a back and forth game with the Firebirds. The fourth quarter featured eight lead changes, but ultimately ended with a Millersville victory after senior Alayah Hall and junior Jade Farquhar drained clutch three-pointers late in the contest.
• Millersville's offense is peaking as the Marauders scored over 80 points for the first time this season and have scored over 70 points in four of their last five games. Even more fortunate for the Marauders, Cheyney's defense is currently conceding 76.2 points per game. Millersville has dominated the series with Cheyney 59-19 including a 28 game winning streak between 1991 and 2009. However, Millersville's most senior players had split their meetings with Cheyney 3-3 since the 2014-15 season.
• Millersville is looking to use a win against Cheyney to turn around its early season struggles and begin its playoff push in 2018. While starting the season 1-4 in PSAC play, the Marauders still rank fifth in the PSAC East, and a win against Cheyney would both strengthen Millersville's playoff bid in February while hindering a fellow PSAC East member's postseason claims.
• Head Coach Mary Fleig leans on Hall to lead the scoring for the Marauders. The point guard leads the team with 14.1 points per game but takes it up another notch in conference games and currently averages 17.5 points. Hall has been consistent for the Marauders of late and has scored in double figures in seven straight games. Furthermore, Hall is shooting 42 percent from the field and 44 percent from the field in PSAC games.
• Also stepping up in PSAC games is redshirt junior Kendra Bamberger. The forward is averaging 16 points per game on 54 percent shooting. Bamberger has proven that on any night she is capable of earning a double double as she earned one double double earlier in the season while averaging 8.2 rebounds per game this season. Her ability to earn extra possessions for the Marauders off the boards has been crucial in their victories.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES
• The Wolves have struggled out of the gate as they try and get their offense and defense working cohesively. Cheyney is averaging under 60 points per game and are victims to a -16.7 scoring margin. The Wolves played a recent gauntlet against three top-4 PSAC West opponents, and they lost their games against Pitt-Johnstown, Edinboro and IUP by double-digits.Cheyney, like Millersville, went into the holiday break with some momentum as they picked up an out-of-conference victory to snap a losing streak. Head Coach Tammy A. Bagby's message to her team is likely similar to Coach Fleig's as both coaches want to continue their momentum in Pucillo Gymnasium.
• Millersville will need to shut down senior guard TaKayla Ellis. She leads the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game and is the only Cheyney player averaging double figures. Ellis earned PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors on Dec. 20 after she put together a 34 point performance against West Liberty.
