GAME OVERVIEWS
• Millersville returned from Thanksgiving break hungry for a victory as the Marauders dominated the Shepherd Rams 78-60 Monday night.
• Freshman
Lauren Lister continued to flash her talent in her young Millersville career as the guard lead all scorers with 21 points. More impressively, she scored a new career-high on 6-9 shooting in only 23 minutes off of the bench.
• Four more Marauders scored in double figures while Millersville's starting-five combined for a 56 points along with snagging 37 of the team's 50 total rebounds.
• The Marauders will look to carry their momentum from the Shepherd game into the week after the team set season-highs in points (70), field goals made (29), field goals attempted (67), and rebounds (50).
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
• Clarion was picked seventh in the PSAC West Division in the conference's preseason poll after falling to Mercyhurst in the first round of the PSAC playoffs during the 2016-17 season.
• While Clarion lost their only two conference match ups so far this season and rank ninth in the west division, the Golden Eagles are 3-1 against out of conference opponents.
• Clarion's scoring is lead by three players in double figures. Amesha Harden-Pullium leads the team with 16.7 points per game while assisting 3.2 buckets per game. Tracy Wiehe is a tough defensive assignment as the 6-4 forward is averaging 13 points per game on almost 53 percent shooting. Jordan Bekelja is scoring 12.2 points per game and will look to get to the free throw line after shooting 23-26 from the charity stripe in four games.
THE LAST MEETING (Clarion 63, Millersville 56)
• The Marauders and the Golden Eagles played a back and forth game that featured 12 lead changes. The Golden Eagles pulled away late after Millersville's shooting went cold and they only managed one bucket in the final three minutes.
• Aunjel Van Brakle and Shelby Reimer lead the Marauders in scoring as they were the only Millersville players to reach double figures against Clarion.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN CATS
• Pitt-Johnstown was picked eighth in the PSAC West Division in the conference preseason poll after finishing the 2016-17 season with a 4-18 PSAC record and missing the conference playoffs.
• The Mountain Cats started well with a 4-2 overall record and a 1-1 conference record. Currently, the team is outscoring their opponents 67.7 to 63.0.
• Olivia McCabe leads UPJ with 18.5 points per game on almost 45 percent shooting along with 42-48 shooting from the free throw line in her first six games. The Millersville guards will need to play aggressive defense to force tough shots, but the Marauders cannot afford to foul McCabe and bail her out with trips to the free throw line.
THE LAST MEETING (Millersville 72, UPJ 50)
• Millersville hit 11 of their first 15 shots to take a commanding 22-11 lead in the first quarter. Coach Fleig's unit kept their foot on the gas and continued to outscore the Mountain Cats in every quarter.
• The Marauders won the turnover battle as they forced 13 steals and turned the Mountain Cats over 31 times. Millersville limited itself to only 19 turnovers and only had the ball stolen seven times.
• Millersville shot the lights out of Pucillo Gymnasium as they shot 48 percent from the field and 43 percent from the three point line. The Marauders played strong perimeter defense and held the Mountain Cats to only 23 percent from the three point line along with 38 percent from the field.
