Najdawi wins season's first PSAC East Freshman of the Week award

Lock Haven, Pa. - After a double-double in his collegiate debut, Millersville's Caden Najdawi was named the season's first PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Week. 

Najdawi helped the Marauders to a double overtime victory against Notre Dame College and a near-upset of 2017 NCAA runner-up Fairmont State by averaging 12 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 53.3 percent from the field. 

His first collegiate performance resulted was an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. He played 43 minutes in the double-overtime victory, connecting on 5 of 12 shots and 7 of 9 free throws. 

Najdawi was one of three Millersville freshmen to start both games last week. James Sullivan scored 14 points in 40 minutes against Fairmont State, and Andre Watkins scored 12 points with two steals against Notre Dame. 

Millersville makes its home debut on Wednesday against Wilmington. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
