
Cross country finishes 17th at PSAC Cross Country Championship

California, Pa. – The Millersville women's cross country team finished the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Cross Country Championship in 17th place out of 18 teams.
Edinboro University claimed the title with three runners in the top 15 positions. Edinboro's Stefanie Parsons came up short in second place by running a 23:04.5, a minute behind the leader. Julie Friend of California (Pa.) won the race with a time of 22:07.8.
All but two of of Millersville's runners in the lineup were freshmen. Victoria Ranck went through the finish line first with a time of 26:46.2, placing 95th. Alexa Happ ran a 27:18.1 in the 6K race to take 100th place.
In her last PSAC Cross Country Championship, senior Madie Tropp was seven seconds off Happ to claim 103rd place. Freshman Elizabeth Rudderrow put herself two positions away from Tropp with a 27:44.3.
Senior Aniya Gibbs captured a 107th place finish with a time of 28:07.5. Freshmen Yoangelys Rijo-Cedeno and Julia Murphy ended their first PSAC Championship with times of 28:47.0 and 28:56.0. Rijo-Cedeno claimed 110th and Murphy earned 113th.
The Marauders looks onto the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11:15 a.m. The regional championship will be hosted at Lock Haven University.
