
Hufnagel Named to IWLCA All-Region Team

Millersville, Pa. - Senior women's lacrosse midfleider Bridget Hufnagel was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Second team in the south region Friday.
The IWLCA named 96 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2016. With the selection to the secon team, Hufnagel is now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on Wednesday May 18.
Hufnagel had a standout season for the Maruaders in 2016, being named First-Team All-PSAC and helping lift Millersville to its first postseason appearance since 2001 and its best record since 1990. Hufnagel led the Marauders in scoring with 60 goals, and finished the year with 81 points which set a new school record for points in a single season.
Starting in 17 regular season games, Hufnagel averaged 3.41 goals per game which tied her with Emily Fagan of Seton Hill for first in the PSAC in that category. Hufnagel placed fifth overall in the conference with 4.47 points per game, ninth in the PSAC with 3.65 draw controls per game, and third with 6.41 shots per game. Hufnagel also led Millersville with 62 draw controls while picking up 28 ground balls and finishing second on the team with 18 caused turnovers. Hufnagel had a team-high seven goals against Shepherd and had five games in which she recorded five goals.
Hufnagel ended the season with 67 draw controls and 32 ground balls and a shots on goal percentage of .783 after Millersville fell to IUP in the first round of the PSAC playoffs. Hufnagel is the first Marauder to win the award since 2008 and the first Millersville midfielder to be named to the IWLCA second team since Margaret Kelly got the not in 2003.
