
Hower, Marauders Roll On in Kaiser Classic

Shippensburg, Pa. - Vanessa Hower continued her dominant spring by winning the hammer throw in the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg Saturday. Hower threw a 179-11 which was both a meet and Marauder record. Amanda Myers took third place in the hammer with a personal record distance of 148-03. Hower also finished fifth overall in the discus throw with a distance of 126-2.
In the javelin, Olivia Misner hit a PSAC qualifying mark of 120-4, which was good for seventh overall. Sunflower Greene finished second in the shot put registering a toss of 44-3 1/4.
Kiara Allen paced the field in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.21. Courtney Ingold placed a close third, clocking in at 25.62 while Clara Forney finished eighth overall with a time of 26.19. Senior Erin Madison was victorious in the 400-meter hurdles, recording a time of 1:01.77. The foursome of Allen, Madison, Ingold and Forney took first place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.74.
Arianna Camel placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.02 in the prelim and 15.17 in the final heat while Shannon Cruz finished sixth overall in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:00.79. Camel also notched a second place finish in the high jump with a height of 5=4 1/4. In the pole vault, Erin Harman finished second overall with a height of 11-2 1/4.
