Marauders Pick up Road Win

Edinboro, Pa. - Millersville earned a PSAC road win Sunday, defeating Edinboro by a score of 16-8. Sabrina Fusco led the way for the Marauders, scoring five goals while Jamie Damirgian had three. Bridget Hufnagel and Callie Kavanaugh each had a pair of goals and Abby Mack racked up four assists in the win. Bryana Weston-Wyatt recorded 11 saves and had a save percentage of .579 facing 29 shots.
After a huge performance on senior day Wednesday, Abby Mack got things going for Millersville as she scored her seventh goal of the season to put the Marauders up 1-0. Edinboro would tie the game at 1 before Bridget Hufnagel put the Marauders back on top. Millersville would put some distance between themselves and the Fighting Scots, extending their lead to 5-1. Sabrina Fusco would put one in the back of the net to give Millersville an 8-2 advantage going into the half.
Edinboro would strike first in the second half as Anna Purdy scored her 26th goal of the season. But the Marauders would respond, scoring the next four goals and taking control of the game for good. Edinboro would try to mount a comeback, but the closest they would come was 14-7. Renee Landis and Jamie Damirgian would add goals late to make the final 16-8 for the Marauders.
Millersville improves to 8-5 (5-4 PSAC) and will stay on the road, heading to West Virginia Tuesday to take on Sheppard at 4 p.m.
