
Men's Golf Finishes as Runner-Up in First Tournament of the Spring

Whispering Pines, N.C. - Millersville men's golf opened its spring schedule with a second-place finish in a 14-team, John Brown Invitational field filled with NCAA Atlantic Region opponents. The Marauders were paced by top-10 finishes from Rodney Anders and Robby Rowe.
The Marauders opened the 36-hole tournament with a 313 team score, which put them in a tie for first place with Charleston. The Marauders improved their team score by two shots in round two but Charleston pulled away from the pack by posting a 301 and winning by 10 shots. Millersville edged California (Pa.) by five shots for runner-up honors.
Connor Sheehan closed day one with a 4-over-par 76 and in a tie for fourth. Anders and Rowe, however, both improved upon their round one scores over the final 18 holes and cracked the top 10. Anders tied for sixth at 9-over-par after shooting rounds of 77 and 76. Rowe followed a 78 with a 76 to tie for ninth. Sheehan placed 12th. Mitch Burns provied Millersville its fourth score, placing 32nd with an 18-over-par score.
The finish helps Millersville's resume for the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional. the Marauders now have four top-three finishes in six tournaments. The Marauders travel to Wheeling, W.Va., on April 3 for the Oglebay Resort Intercollegiate.
