Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• Millersville women's basketball is pushing its way up the PSAC East standings after winning four in a row and six of the last seven games. The Marauders have managed to do so despite having several key players out with injuries.
Yasmin Cooper missed two consecutive games while
Aunjel Van Brakle sat out the win over Lock Haven. Those two players combined for 96 career starts, more than 14 rebounds and 18 points per game. Cooper had played in 60 consecutive games before missing the last two, and Van Brakle had played in 35 in a row. In their absence, junior forward
Courtney Hinnant played a career-high 31 minutes and scored 11 points against Lock Haven. Hinnant has prior success against Shippensburg, scoring a season-high 13 in the Jan. 9 match-up.
Celeste Robinson is now the only player on the team to have started every game.
• A key for Millersville could be if Cooper could play Wednesday. Cooper is the Marauders' top rebounder (8.4 per game) and interior defender, blocking 19 shots and totaling 21 steals. She would draw the match-up against Shippensburg's PSAC East Player of the Year candidate Morgan Griffith. Griffith tallied 18 points and 11 boards in the first meeting of the season.
• Millersville's recent run has clinched the program a winning season after experiencing an 11-16 campaign in 2014-15. It is the 24th time in 26 seasons that Coach
Mary Fleig's team will finish at .500 or better. One win or a Lock Haven loss over the final five games clinches a PSAC Tournament berth for the Marauders as well. Millersville had played in the postseason for a conference record 17 consecutive seasons (1997-2014) before missing out in 2015-16. Millersville currently holds a one-game lead over Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg for the No. 3 seed in the East and trails Shippensburg by three games. The Marauders must win Wednesday to even the series head-to-head record.
• Playing Shippensburg in Heiges Fieldhouse is a tough match-up for the Marauders. The Marauders are 5-5 on the road and 4-5 in PSAC road games, allowing 62.1 points per game while scoring just 62.0 points per game. Millersville is plus-10.7 in scoring margin at home. Shippensburg, meanwhile is 10-1 at home and its only loss came by three points to PSAC West leader IUP on Dec. 4.
• The game is also a clash of styles. Shippensburg's high-scoring attack has produced 80 or more points in back-to-back games and seven times in 22 games. Millersville thrives at the defensive end, ranking first in the PSAC in scoring defense, second in field goal percentage defense and second in 3-point field goal percentage defense. Millersville holds teams to 59.8 points per game and has held 12 teams to fewer than 60 points. Shippensburg's 74 in the first meeting was the most points allowed by Millersville and its 51.8 field goal percentage was also the best by any opponent. Millersville is 12-1 when scoring at least 60 points and 9-0 when scoring 70 or more.
S

The Raiders are also the No. 2-ranked team in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Poll. Shippensburg has now won at least 17 games in each of the last four seasons.
• Shippensburg owns the PSAC's top scoring offense at 74.7 points per game and is outscoring teams by an average of 10 points per game. The Raiders' 44.5 percent shooting is best in the league, and they rank first in assist/turnover ratio.
