F&M Takes 2016 Rupp Cup

Lancaster, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall College was victorious in the annual battle for the Rupp Cup, defeating the visiting Marauders 25-13.
Austin Camacci, D.J. Mele and Colton Dull registered the three wins for Millersville. Camacci won by forfeit at 125 pounds. D.J. Mele, wrestling at 157 pounds, dominated his opponent, Michael Marano, from the start en route a major decision victory. Mele started the second round with an escape and followed up with a takedown and near fall. In the third round, Mele scored another takedown and defeated Marano by the score of 10-0.
The 197-pound Dull jumped ahead of Charles Kerkesner in the first scoring a takedown before Kerkesner scored an escape. In the third round, Dull escaped and edge out Kerkesner, 3-2.
The Marauders will compete next at the NCAA Super Region 1 Championships on February 26 in Erie, Pa.
