Millersville, Pennsylvania -- Despite the cross country season ending and the track and field season not starting until Dec. 3, Millersville is still running.
Starting Nov. 1, Millersville athletes and coaches ran miles to promote awareness and raise money for the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice located in Sussex, United Kingdom.
"When approached with the opportunity our girls jumped all over it," said Head Coach Andy Young. "Obviously running is something that they enjoy doing, so having the chance to do something they love while raising money for a great cause, that's just an amazing opportunity."
Teaming up with a handful of individuals from the UK, the goal is to run a total of 700 Miles throughout the month of November as well as raise a minimum of $4,000 in order to support and help families in need.
The Chestnut Tree House is a registered charity based in Sussex, United Kingdom. They currently care for 300 life-limited children both at the hospice or at the child's home. Their goal is to provide the best quality of life for children, young people and their families, and to offer practical, social and spiritual support throughout each child's life.
