Seton Hill, Pennsylvania - Alexandrea Powell scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season, but it was not enough as Millersville fell to Seton Hill 3-1 Saturday. Samantha Wolfe registered five saves in the effort and the Marauders were narrorwly outshot 14-13.
Both teams traded opportunities early, but the Griffins would strike first when Katie Kimmich was able to find the back of the net to put Seton Hill up 1-0. Minutes later, Millersville earned a foul in the box and Powell drilled the penalty kick to even the score at 1-1.
Kay Liebl nearly put the Marauders on top in the26th, but pushed the ball just wide of the net. In the 40th minute, Hope Creamer played a long through ball that Emma Bearinger finished and once again gave the Griffins a one-goal advantage.
Liebl registered a pair of shots to start the second, but Seton Hill would find the net once again when Emily LoPresti finished a rebound and gave the Giffins a commanding 3-1 lead. The Marauder would press, but could not convert and eventually fell to the host team.
Millersville now stands at 6-10 (6-9 PSAC) overall but returns home to face Mansfield Tuesday at 5 p.m.
