Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville men's basketball team was unable to overcome a 37-12 first half run by the visiting Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats and fell by an 88-67 score in a PSAC Crossover at Pucillo Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. UPJ hit nine of its 12 3-pointers within the first half run as it built a 29-point halftime lead.
The Mountain Cats (9-3, 6-2 PSAC) came out of the gates firing from distance as 3-pointers from Nate Snodgrass and Dale Clancy, followed by a transition score by Orlando King Jr. gave the visitors a 15-7 lead four minutes into the first half.
Millersville (2-11, 2-7 PSAC) responded with a trey of its own from Tommy Patterson at the 12:20 to cut Pitt-Johnstown's lead to 19-15, but the Mountain Cats closed out the first half with a 37-12 run and extended its lead to 29 points.
Ricky Mosley opened the second half scorching from the field scoring the Marauders first nine points of the half to cut the lead to 22. Pitt-Johnstown responded with a pair of 3-pointers from Clancy and Snodgrass that pushed the lead to 32 at 71-39. The Mountain Cats never allowed Millersville any closer than 21 the rest of the way.
