The Marauders are 7-7 in conference play and three-and-a-half games back of division-leading Shippensburg with eight games left on the schedule. The Marauders are 4-5 on the road while Kutztown is 6-4 at home. Millersville has won three of its last four games.
• Millersville topped Kutztown by a 68-54 final in the first match-up of the 2015-16 season. The programs have met 78 times with Millersville winning 56, but Kutztown is much better at home in the series, going 15-19 compared to 5-32 in Pucillo Gymnasium. Kutztown has beaten Millersville just four times since 2002 (4-26). Three of those four wins for the Golden Bears came at home. Still, the series has been closely contested lately. Nine of the last 13 meetings have been decided by 10 points or fewer.
• Millersville made a season-high 28 free throws and attempted 41 on Wednesday at East Stroudsburg. While the Marauders rank 16th in the 18-team PSAC in free throw percentage, they have shot 56-of-77 (.727) in their last three games, making 21 or more in two of those games. Against East Stroudsburg,
Alayah Hall went 9-for-9--a career-high in free throws made.
Aunjel Van Brakle also made a career-high nine.
Celeste Robinson went 4-for-4 and
Tyisha White made a season-high four free throws.
•
Yasmin Cooper ranks seventh in the PSAC in rebounding at 8.7 per game, but nearly half of her rebounds (78-of-157) have come on the offensive glass. She ranks second in the league in offensive rebounding, grabbing 4.3 per game. She has eight or more rebounds in 12 games and has totaled eight or more in five of the last six. Her 11 against East Stroudsburg was her seventh double-digit rebounding performance of the season. Now with 733 career rebounds, Cooper ranks ninth in Millersville history. Her 7.6 average eighth-best.
•
Shelby Reimer made all four of Millersville's threes against East Stroudsburg. She has made a 3-pointer in 10 consecutive games. Her 4-for-7 effort against ESU lifted her season percentage to .331 which ranks her 10th in the PSAC. She has made a staggering 57 percent of Millersville's 3-pointers. Aside from Reimer, the rest of the team is shooting 21.3 percent.
• Reimer has scored in double figures 12 times this season, which is the most for a season in her career. Since Nov. 29, Millersville is 8-1 when Reimer scores 10 or more points and 2-3 when she scores fewer than 10.
•
Aunjel Van Brakle has also scored in double figures in three consecutive games, averaging 15.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in that stretch. Van Brakle, who has nine double-figure scoring performances this season, including five in a row at one point, had gone seven consecutive games without hitting the mark. She averaged just 4.0 points per game from Dec. 16-Jan. 13. A key has been getting to the line. She's made 19 free throws in the last three games.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• After starting the season 6-3, the Golden Bears suffered through a five-game losing streak at the start of January and are 1-6 in their last seven games against PSAC opponents. Kutztown lost a 92-55 decision at West Chester on Wednesday. Six of the team's eight wins have come at home.
• The offense is led by three double-digit scorers in Kelsey Watson, Natalya Lee and Jenna Altomare. They are the only three players to start all 18 games and the only players averaging more than 6.1 points per game. One member of the trio has led the team in scorer in every game but one.
