GAME OVERVIEW

• After two weeks on the road in the PSAC West, Millersville returns home to open divisional play against longtime rival West Chester. The series dates back to 1921 and today is the 83rd meeting between the teams. The two programs have met every season except one since 1946. West Chester is coming off an 11-2 season in which it reached the second round of the NCAA Playoffs. The Golden Rams have started 2015 1-2 but its losses have come against nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne and undefeated Mercyhurst. Millersville suffered two painfully close losses against Ursinus and Clarion before being defeated by nationally-ranked Slippery Rock last week. Millersville is looking to end a 12-game losing streak to the Golden Rams and a 14-game home losing streak.
•  Millersville was the top-ranked defense in the PSAC after the first two weeks but slipped to eighth after giving up 553 yards to Slippery Rock. The Marauders still boast the fifth-best passing defense and leads the league in sacks with 14. The Marauders have also picked off five passes which ranks No. 2 in the PSAC. Rasheed Johnson ranks fourth in tackles and five Marauders rank in the top 15 in sacks.
•  The offense is in need of spark as it is averaging just 183 yards per game through three games. Freshman Phil Overton leads the team in rushing yards (113) and receiving yards (70) and has also scored a team-leading two touchdowns.
•  West Chester may have two losses, but scoring points has not been an issue. The Golden Rams rank second in the PSAC in total offense, fourth in scoring offense,  third in rushing and fourth in passing. Jarel Elder is the reigning PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four touchdowns against Seton Hill.  Additionally, the team regained the services of All-American tight end Tim Brown, who caught 17 touchdown passes in 2014.

ABOUT THE SERIES
• West Chester has won 12 consecutive games in the series and holds a 65-17 lead in the all-time series. West Chester has scored at least 41 points in each of the last nine games and is outscoring Millersville by an average of 45.0-11.4.
• Last season, Kevin Wiggins scored the Marauders' lone touchdown in a 65-7 loss. West Chester produced 608 yards of offense including 270 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Eddie Elliot totaled 124 yards and two scores on 10.3 yards per carry.

YOUTH IN ACTION
• Millersville's season-opening starting lineup featured 11 players making their first starts at a position, and 12 were freshmen or sophomores. Nine true or redshirt freshmen recorded statistics in the game. Through three games, 16 freshmen or sophomores have started at least one game.

SANELLI'S STREAK
• A mainstay of the offensive line entering his fourth season is Lenny Sanelli. The senior has started all 36 games since stepping onto campus in 2012, and his consecutive starts streak ranks second in the PSAC to only Bloomsburg quarterback Tim Kelly, who has logged 39 in a row.

STRENGTH IN THE SECONDARY
• Millersville returned its starting secondary intact and the eight players on the two-deep have combined for 83 career starts. The leader among them is safety Rasheed Johnson, who has started 28 games including 22 of the last 23. Johnson has ranked in the top 20 in the PSAC in tackles in each of the last two seasons and currently ranks fourth. He had a career-high 19 tackles in week two against Clarion. Johnson has recorded double-digit stops in two of three games this season and nine times in his career.
• Joey Pham, who ranked eighth in the PSAC with 13 passes defended in 2014, missed week two with an injury and it was apparent. Pham broke up four passes against Ursinus and Clarion completed two touchdown passes working against his replacement. Pham returned in week three against Slippery Rock and made a tackle for loss.
• P.J. Santos has emerged as one of the top ball-hawks in the PSAC. He leads the league in interceptions with two, picking off one in each game. Santos has recorded six interceptiosn in his last eight games dating back to 2014. He also recovered a fumble in the opener and forced a fumble against Clarion. Last season, Santos tied for seventh in the league with four interceptions, recovered two fumbles and also returned a fumble for a touchdown. His six career interceptions place him in a tie for ninth in Millersville history. He missed the Slippery Rock game after being suspended by the PSAC for targeting against Clarion.

YOUTH PRODUCING IN FRONT SEVEN
• There is not a single upperclassman listed as a starter in the front seven on defense but the group has produced. They are the reason why Millersville leads the league in sacks with 14. The team had a total of 16 in all of 2014. Of the eight players with at least one sack, seven of them are of freshman or sophomore status. Sene Polamalu's 2.5 ranks fifth in the league. The Marauders have four players in the top 15 in sacks.
• Polamalu and Sean Dugan rank 12th in the PSAC in tackles for loss, totaling 3.5 in three games. Dugan has at least one sack in two of three games this season and at least a half sack in four of five games dating back to 2014. Over his last six games, Dugan has 4.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.
• Polamalu has made at least a half tackle for loss in six of his last eight games dating back to 2014. He also has six sacks in that stretch.
