Kutztown, Pa. - Kaylora Thompson and
Nicole Daacke won in straight sets in singles play on Friday afternoon to lead the Millersville University women's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Kutztown to spoil their home-opener this spring.
Daake teamed up with freshman
Kimberly Theophile in no. 1 doubles to score another victory as they beat Gabriella Werheim and Danielle Patterson by a 8-1 score. Thompson competed in no. 2 doubles with
Heather Grove as the due thrashed won by 8-3 margin over Vicki Norman and Jessica Burns.
Grove carried the momentum over to her singles match versus Caitlyn Walker and remains undefeated on the 2014-15 season winning in straight sets.
Samantha Brzenk showed impressive skills in no. 5 singles defeating Caitlin Davis by 6-2, 6-3 scores.
Millersville returns to the courts on Sunday, March 29 in PSAC action when it hosts Bloomsburg University beginning at 1 p.m.
