Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• Saturday's 74-67 win over Lock Haven punched Millersville's ticket into the PSAC Quarterfinals for the third season in a row. The Marauders have to face East Stroudsburg, which ended Millersville's season in the quarterfinals in 2013-14. ESU went on to win its second PSAC Championship in three years. Kohler Fieldhouse has become a tough place for Millersville to play. It is the Marauders' fourth trip to the building in the last 13 months. The Marauders have lost seven in a row there with the last win coming by an 81-79 score in double overtime in 2009. Over those seven games, ESU has held an average margin of victory of 78.7-61.9. Millersville's highest point total in that stretch is 70 points (2011).
•   This is the 23rd PSAC Tournament appearance for Millersville since it started 32 years ago. The Marauders have made eight championship game appearances and have won five including two under Coach
Fred Thompson. Millersville is 21-16 all-time in the tournament. Thompson owns an 11-7 record, winning titles in 2002-03 and 2006-07. While Millersville has won seven consecutive opening round games, the Marauders have lost in the second round of the tournament in three consecutive appearances. Millersville and ESU have met in the PSAC Tournament just three times with ESU holding a 2-1 edge, winning in the PSAC title game in double overtime in 1990 and in last season's quarterfinal. Millersville's win came at home in the 2007 quarterfinal.
•   Millersville has won three in a row, six of the last eight, 10 of 14 and are 12-6 since Dec. 20. While ESU won the PSAC East with a 16-6 league record, the teams are have identical 10-4 records since Jan. 10. The two teams split during the regular season but Millersville's roster that took a 78-66 loss on Nov. 22 did not include
Tavon Parker,
Anthony Moe and
Demerik Weglinski, who all contributed in the 61-58 win on Jan. 31. East Stroudsburg finished the regular season with a 4-4 record in the final eight games. Millersville held ESU to 35.2 percent shooting and 58 points in its win. Both marked season lows for the Warriors. Keeping the ESU offense in check is key. In Millersville's last three wins in the series, it has held ESU to 69, 69 and 58 points. Millersville is 12-1 this season when holding opponents under 70 points. Over the last 14 games the Marauders are holding teams to 67.7 points, 37.8 percent shooting from the field and 30.0 percent from three.
•  Â
Shawn Williams is just two assists away from becoming just the third Marauder in the last seven years to record 100 assists in a season. He's had four or more assists in 12 games and has at least two in each of the last seven games.
•   Millersville is hoping that
Anthony Moe can replicate his most recent outing. One game after recording zero points and three rebounds, Moe totaled 19 points and 18 rebounds--his second game of 18 rebounds and fifth double-double in 14 games. He went for 22 points and 18 rebounds in the win over ESU. Since that performance, he's averaged a team-best 13.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game with four double-doubles.
•   Millersville is on a record-setting free throw shooting pace. The Marauders made 24-of-27 free throws against Lock Haven to improve its season average to 74.5 percent. That mark is third in the PSAC and will break the 1984-85 team's single season record of 73.1 percent. Millersville also ranks third in the league in free throw attempts. Millersville's percentage drops off considerably on the road, though. The Marauders hit 79.4 percent at home but just 69.2 percent on the road.
Sam Light is also on pace to set the individual record which has stood for 55 years. Light's 86.6 percent ranks fourth in the PSAC. Light's 327 points are the most scored by a Marauder freshman since
Charlie Parker scored 430 in 2004-05.
•   Millersville's current starting lineup of Moe, Callender, Parker, Lester and Williams has been together for nine games. In 102:23 minutes together, the group has posted a team-best plus/minus of +60 (195-135).
