Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• Millersville snapped its three-game losing streak with a double overtime win over Lincoln on Sunday. That game opened a four-game home stand for the Marauders over a seven-day period. Both of Millersville's wins have come at home. Millersville has been at least .500 or better at home for more than 30 consecutive seasons. The Marauders are looking for their first PSAC win after starting 0-3 against conference opponents for the first time since 1995-96. Kutztown, meanwhile, is off to a strong 4-1 start. The only loss came by one point at Mercyhurst.
• Tuesday is the 78th meeting between Millersville and Kutztown and Millersville has won 55 of those games including 26 of the last 30 dating back to 2002. Millersville is 31-5 all-time at Pucillo against the Golden Bears with one of those losses coming last season in February. Last season,
Yasmin Cooper totaled 14 points and 20 rebounds in a road match-up against Kutztown. She then grabbed 17 rebounds in the home loss.
•
Aunjel Van Brakle hit all seven of her free throws against Lincoln to help the Marauders pull away, but the rest of the team shot 6-for-15 from the stripe. Free throws are an ongoing issue for the Marauders as they rank 18th in the 18-team PSAC in free throw percentage (.562). Not only that, but the Marauders are tied for 13th in attempts. Millersville has shot more free throws that its opponents in just one of four games.
• Millersville ranks 17th in the league in 3-point shooting percentage and its 16 attempts per game ranks 13th-most.
Shelby Reimer does most of the damage having hit 14 of Millersville's 21 threes. She has also attempted more than half of the teams threes (44 of 82).
•
Yasmin Cooper has two double-doubles in five games this season and 15 for her career. Her 16 boards against Lincoln boosted her career total to 631 (7.6 per game) which ranks 10th in Millersville history. Her 11.0 average in 2015-16 is fifth in the PSAC. Cooper is active on the offensive glass, with nearly half (5.4) of her rebounds coming at that end. Her offensive rebounding average is the best in the PSAC.
• Millersville has ranked in the PSAC's top-five in field goal percentage defense each season since 2004-05. So far this season, the Marauders have allowed three opponents to shoot better than 40 percent from the field and three to shoot better than 35 percent from three. Not surprisingly, the Marauders are 0-3 in those games and 2-0 when holding opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field and under 35 percent from three. Millersville ranks 10th in the PSAC in field goal percentage defense and 13th in scoring defense.
